Startorus Fusion successfully developed the Pyro-Cryo Cycler (PCC) for high-temperature superconducting magnet components
To meet the operational requirements of commercial fusion systems——withstand harsh conditions such as temperature and current cycling, Startorus Fusion has independently developed an automatic temperature/current cycling system (Pyro-Cryo Cycler, PCC) for conducting multiple fatigue performance tests on key components of high-temperature superconducting magnets.
The system is capable of conducting multiple thermal cycling current tests on key components such as the scaled TF coil, CS coil, high-temperature superconducting cable, joints, and leads under two operating conditions: liquid nitrogen temperature (77K) and room temperature (300K), while monitoring their performance changes in real time. Currently, PCC has achieved fully automatic operation without human supervision, which not only significantly reduces labor resources but also enables round-the-clock, uninterrupted testing, thereby providing a continuous and reliable guarantee for the performance verification of key components of high-temperature superconducting magnets.
